Introducing GIS Works Navigator Mobile

Table of Contents

All about our GIS works Navigator on the Web app can be found here,

GIS Works Navigator

but it doesn't just stop there, as it also available on our Mobile app.

Open your Closeout Mobile App, go to GIS Works Navigator module on top left, and you can access your projects in the field as well.

Our always present familiar filters allow you to quickly find the project of interest, or you can just start typing it in.

After selecting the project of choice, in the next step you can select line structures individually or select them all at once. Select your structures, click “OK” and then “Apply” and you are shown an interactive map of your line structure populated with all the geolocated photos taken along the route. You can move, zoom, and pan along the map and click on photos to get them to open in Control Panel mode (Once in Control Panel view mode, swiping left or right you can move through all the photos as well). Clicking on the photo again, gives you a full screen version so you can analyze it in more detail.

Note:

Blue encircled numbers mean the number of photos available/taken at that location. Further zooming in will show the actual photos individually.

In mobile GIS Works Navigator, the colouring of photos follows the standard CloseOut specification: Green - Accepted ; Blue - Pending ; Red - Rejected

The line structure status in mobile app is colour coded as well in following manner

Upon launching the GIS Works Navigator in mobile in Map View (after selecting your project and line structures there are additional shortcuts that you can use)

Selecting "Photo View" you will get a thumbnailed view of all the photos as below:

Selecting "Line Structure View", you will get a categorized view of photos according to your earlier selected line structures:

Clicking on the line structure will show you a thumbnail view of photos along the structure, where clicking on  on the right you will access the workflow for that same line structure (in Control Panel mode) which you can then use to further document your field work by taking photos.

Note

In Control Panel mode, when your Project was originally created as a line structure, and when looking at photos, clicking on a map icon  will take you straight to the part of line structure where the photo was taken in Map View.

Where am I!?

A mobile app user can also see where they are in regard to the selected line structures in the GIS Navigator. A blue dot  shows your position, direction of movement (arrow), accuracy of position (size of the blue circle around the dot), and can help the user navigate to the needed part of line infrastructure where work is to be performed. The map is interactive and selecting a line or a pin will show the name and the corresponding assigned workflow for that element.
